      We anticipate minimal interruption during the transition to the new learning management system, but to help you navigate any questions or concerns, we’ve provided the following FAQs in advance. Thank you for your understanding and support as we enhance your learning experience.

      Why is the online learning platform changing?

      HFMA is moving to a more contemporary LMS to improve engagement and usability. The new platform will feature: 

      • A refreshed, user-friendly design
      • Enhanced navigation and functionality
      • Improved program interactions for a more intuitive experience
      • New interactive content, with avatars and video instruction
      • Expanded content library with bite size learning courses
      When will the new platform launch?

      The new LMS and updated course catalog will launch in Spring 2026 (exact date to be announced). We will communicate the official date well in advance.

      Will there be downtime during the transition?

      Yes, we anticipate intermittent service interruptions of approximately 2 weeks in March 2026 (specific dates to be finalized). We will notify all members ahead of time. Downtime will be minimal, and we appreciate your patience.

      How will I access my courses (new, in-progress, or completed)?

      Access remains the same via your eLearning dashboard:

      1. Log in at hfma.org/log-in
      2. Select My Development
      3. Click My eLearning
      I am currently enrolled in a program and planning on taking the exam soon; what do you recommend?

      To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend the following:

      • Finish your program now or plan to continue in the new platform If you are close to completing your current course or certification, we encourage you to finish it before the transition. Otherwise, you may choose to pause now and resume in the new LMS once it becomes available.
      • Log in and record your progress We encourage you to access the current platform and document your place in the program for easy reference when the new platform launches.
      Will my saved bookmarks be transferred to the new platform?

      No, bookmarks cannot be migrated. We recommend:

      • Finish now: If you’re close to completing a course, finish it before the transition.
      • Start later: If you prefer to wait, note your progress for reference when the new platform launches.
      • Note: If you wait to start later, note your current place — the new platform will still allow you to skip ahead to where you left off without redoing completed sections.
      Recertification Programs: If I’m currently enrolled in a recertification course (expiring 6/30/2026), what happens?

      HFMA will automatically re-enroll you in the new platform for seamless access. You will not need to take any action. As a reminder, bookmarks cannot be migrated. We recommend:

      • Finish now: If you’re close to completing a course, finish it before the transition. OR
      • Start later: If you prefer to wait, note your progress for reference when the new platform launches.
      Will my course history and certificates transfer?

      Yes, your eLearning history and certificates will remain accessible in your account.

      Will the new platform work on mobile devices?

      Yes, the new LMS is mobile-friendly and optimized for tablets and smartphones.

      Will there be new features or tools?

      Yes! Expect improved dashboards, progress tracking, new bite size learning courses, and interactive learning tools.

      Do I need to create a new login?

      No, your existing HFMA login credentials will continue to work.

      Will there be training or tutorials for the new LMS?

      Yes, we will provide quick-start guides and/or short video tutorials to help you get familiar with the new platform and navigate courses.

      What are the new HFMA bite-size courses?

      The bite-size courses are short, engaging learning modules designed to fit easily into your day. Each focused lesson takes 15 minutes or less and may include avatars, narration, and interactive elements to keep you engaged as you progress. You can move through the content at your own pace, revisit topics anytime, and make steady progress whenever you have a few spare minutes. Check back often as we continue adding more content to the library.
